Example Use Scenarios

Loading Catalog Data to your store

By using the Catalog Lookup & Fitment endpoints developers have the ability to systematically search for and pull our product data to then format in a way that is acceptable by the shopping cart platform that the products should be loaded on to.

Pricing & Inventory Rules, anywhere

By using the Stock and Price endpoints developers can pull in the most up-to-date inventory & pricing information supplied to PSS by the distributors. PSS will relay all calculated price and inventory levels based on the rules set up by the customer in the dashboard. Developers don’t need to worry about malformed inventory sheets and unresponsive FTP accounts anymore.

Order & User Creation

By using the Orders and Users endpoints developers can create and manage both orders and users (our customers’ customers) of sales that may have occurred at any source to then be used by any of our other endpoints. I.e. Webstore, In-Person POS, Trade Show, Mobile Transactions, etc.

Shipment Tracking updates

  1. By using our Orders endpoint developers have the ability to update the tracking information for orders captured by PSS for the marketplaces, in turn, PSS will then relay this information to the appropriate marketplace that this order was completed on.
  2. If your cart doesn’t support ShipWorks (PSS recommended shipping management software) PSS can act as a relay for your cart and ShipWorks. By using our Orders & Users endpoints developers can create custom orders within PSS, which will then be pulled by ShipWorks. Once tracking information is updated by ShipWorks the developer can then request the updated tracking information for said order.
If you have any other ideas or thoughts about how you would like to implement the PSS API please feel free to ask us at any point.
