Using a Custom SKU

PSS allows you to utilize a custom SKU/MPN for private catalog.

To do this we simply add a colon (:) to the end of the true MPN used by the brand.

The text before the colon is the true MPN, and the MPN that will be used on eBay or your custom webstore.

The text after the colon is the custom sku.  You will likely be using this portion for inventory tracking purposes.

When the product is listed to a marketplace, the : and everything after will be trimmed off.  However, when you check your orders you will see the full MPN with your custom text.

Demonstration

Here we have the MPN column of our Private Catalog Import Template.

Example 1

The first line you will see the MPN: 497523-L:rancho 497523-L(class 4)

If you use the {%MPN%} tag for an eBay listing title the MPN that will be transposed onto the listing will be 497523-L

Listing behavior

":rancho 497523-L(class 4)" will be trimmed off.

Orders behavior

"497523-L:rancho 497523-L(class 4)" will show up in your orders module

Example 2

On the second example you have YTZ14S Z14S:bosch js YTZ14S Z14S_MMG4

If you use the {%MPN%} tag for an eBay listing title the MPN that will be transposed onto the listing will be YTZ14S Z14S

Listing behavior

":bosch js YTZ14S Z14S_MMG4" will be trimmed off.

Orders behavior

YTZ14S Z14S:bosch js YTZ14S Z14S_MMG4 will show up in your orders module
