EPIDs & Parts Compatibility

EPIDs (eBay Product IDs) are how eBay knows which vehicles a part fits. When a listing has EPID data, buyers see a fitment table and can check their own year, make and model right on the listing. For powersports parts, that's one of the biggest drivers of buyer confidence.

  • What to do when fitment or other product data is wrong
  • Why some listings have no fitment table

How PSS handles EPIDs

PSS pulls fitment data from eBay's powersports catalog and adds it to your listings automatically, so you don't have to enter fitment for each product.

  • Only fitment comes from EPIDs. Your titles, images, descriptions and prices still come from your PSS catalog and templates.
  • Fitment updates about quarterly, whenever eBay refreshes its powersports catalog. New models and corrections reach your listings on the next update.

📌 Key Point: Some products have no EPID in eBay's catalog yet. That's normal, and the listing still goes live, just without a fitment table. eBay's coverage keeps growing, so it may show up after a future update.

When fitment is wrong

Because fitment comes from eBay's catalog, eBay has to correct it.

  1. Check the part in eBay's US Powersports Parts Catalog to confirm the problem is in the EPID data.
  2. Report it to eBay Merchant Support, who maintain that catalog.
  3. Let PSS support know as well, so we can track it.

The fix reaches your listings once eBay corrects the record and PSS picks up the next update.

When other product data is wrong

For everything else, like a wrong image, a mismatched product or a bad description, report it to PSS directly. Our catalog team reviews and corrects it.

  1. In your catalog, select the product row (or several rows).
  2. Click Report Catalog Issue.
  3. Add a detailed note on what's wrong and submit.

⚠️ Warning: While a product is under review, its inventory is set to 0 on every marketplace, so it can't sell with bad data. It comes back automatically once the review is done.

We'll email you when the review is complete. Corrections can take a few days to appear in the catalog because of weekly indexing.

💡 Pro Tip: Every report improves the catalog for you and every other PSS dealer selling the same part. If something looks off, report it.
