Webstore Category Structure: Import/Export
Manage your Ecommerce Webstore's category tree via CSV. For simple category additions or deletions, you can make changes directly in the Ecommerce interface. The CSV approach is best for large-scale restructuring or when you want to review the full hierarchy.
Export Category Structure
Location: File Center > Webstore > "Client: Export Category Structure"
The export contains three columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| WebstoreCategory.path | Full category path showing parent/child hierarchy (e.g., "Parts > Engine > Gaskets") |
| WebstoreCategory.product_count | Number of product groups in each category at the time of export |
| WebstoreCategory.delete | Shows 0 on export. Change to 1 to delete a category on import. |
Import Category Structure
Location: File Center > Webstore > "Client: Import Category Structure"
Template Columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| WebstoreCategory.path | The full category path. Copy from your export and paste as Text/Values only to avoid formatting errors. |
| WebstoreCategory.delete | Enter 1 to delete the category. Enter 0 to create or keep it. |
Critical Warning: When adding new categories, spelling and spacing must be exact. Misspellings or extra spaces will create duplicate or broken categories on your webstore. Always copy/paste existing paths rather than typing them manually.
Changes typically appear on your webstore within one hour after import.
