Product Exclusion FAQ

Q: Will excluding a brand delete my products?

No. Exclusions only hide products from the webstore. Your product data, inventory, and pricing are all preserved. Removing the exclusion makes the products visible again immediately.

Q: I excluded a brand but it still shows up in search results. What happened?

Make sure you clicked Save after checking the brand. If you navigated away from the page before saving, your changes were not applied.

Q: A brand appears under multiple distributors. Do I need to exclude it under each one?

No. For global brand exclusions, checking the brand under any one distributor excludes it across the entire webstore. The exclusion is based on the brand name, not the distributor.

Q: Can I exclude individual products instead of an entire brand?

The Product Exclusions feature works at the brand/manufacturer level, not the individual product level. To manage individual products, use the Webstore Products page where you can change a product's status.

Q: I set a category exclusion but the brand still appears on my webstore.

Category exclusions only affect the specific category and its subcategories. The brand will still appear in other categories and in general search results. If you want to hide the brand everywhere, use a global Brand Exclusion instead.

Q: Does the order I add exclusions matter?

No. All exclusions are applied equally. There is no priority or ordering.

Q: I selected Activity Types but I'm still seeing products for vehicle types I didn't select.

Products with no activity type assigned will always appear on the webstore regardless of your Activity Type selections. These are typically general-use parts and accessories that are not vehicle-specific.

Q: Do Activity Types and Brand Exclusions work together?

Yes. A product must pass all filters to appear on your webstore. If a product's activity type is not selected, it is hidden — even if the brand is not excluded. Likewise, if a brand is excluded, its products are hidden even if the activity type is selected.

Q: Who can manage product exclusions?

Any admin user with access to the Webstore section of the dashboard can manage product exclusions.
