Delete Permanently removes the category

Hiding Categories

What Does "Hide Category" Do?

The Hide Category feature lets you remove a category from your webstore without deleting it. When a category is hidden:

  • The category no longer appears in your webstore's navigation
  • All products assigned to that category are hidden from that category's page
  • All subcategories underneath it are also hidden
  • The category still exists in your admin dashboard — it is not deleted
  • All product assignments, brand exclusions, and landing page customizations are preserved

How to Hide a Category

  1. Go to Webstore > Categories
  2. Find the category you want to hide
  3. Click the ellipsis button (three dots)
  4. Select Hide Category
  5. A confirmation dialog will appear:

"Hiding this category will cause this category, all subcategories, and their assigned products to be hidden from display on the webstore."

  6. Click Hide Category to confirm

The category will now display an eye-off icon next to its name in the admin category list.

How to Show a Hidden Category

  1. Go to Webstore > Categories
  2. Find the hidden category (it will have an eye-off icon)
  3. Click the ellipsis button
  4. Select Show Category
  5. A confirmation dialog will appear:

"Showing this category will cause this category, all subcategories not explicitly hidden, and their assigned products to be displayed on the webstore."

  6. Click Show Category to confirm

How Subcategories Are Affected

Hidden status flows downward through the category tree. Hiding a parent automatically hides all of its children on the webstore.

Parts & Accessories <-- You hide this category
Engine <-- Also hidden on the webstore
Pistons <-- Also hidden on the webstore
Gaskets <-- Also hidden on the webstore
Suspension <-- Also hidden on the webstore

When you show a parent, its subcategories become visible again — unless a subcategory was explicitly hidden on its own:

Parts & Accessories <-- You show this category
Engine <-- Still hidden (it was explicitly hidden separately)
Pistons <-- Still hidden (child of hidden Engine)
Gaskets <-- Still hidden (child of hidden Engine)
  Suspension <-- Visible again
