Allowing OEM Parts for Shipment FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I enabled this setting but my existing OEM parts are still pickup only. Why?
This setting only affects new OEM parts ordered for the first time after the change. Existing parts retain their current fulfillment method. To change existing parts, use the bulk edit feature in Webstore Products or import via CSV.
Q: I disabled this setting but some OEM parts are still shippable. Why?
Same reason — the setting only affects new parts going forward. Parts that were previously set as shippable retain that setting. Change them individually or in bulk through Webstore Products.
Q: What if I have "In-Store Pickup Only" enabled store-wide?
The store-wide "In-Store Pickup Only" setting overrides everything. All orders — OEM, Aftermarket, and Private — will be forced to in-store pickup regardless of the "Allow OEM Parts for Shipment" setting or any per-product settings.
Q: Does this setting affect Aftermarket or Private Catalog products?
No. This setting only affects OEM parts. Aftermarket and Private Catalog products are always created as shippable by default.
Q: How do I know which OEM parts on my webstore are set to pickup only?
Go to Webstore Products and filter by Catalog = OEM. The "In-Store Pickup Only" column shows the current setting for each product with a visual indicator (green checkmark = pickup only, red X = shippable).
Q: Can a customer still order a pickup-only part for shipping?
No. When a product is set to in-store pickup only, the customer cannot choose shipping for that item. They must pick it up at your store or remove it from their cart.
Q: What happens if I have no pickup locations configured?
If in-store pickup is enabled but no locations are configured, the pickup option will not display properly at checkout. Always ensure you have at least one pickup location set up under Settings > Webstore > In-Store Pickup.
Q: Does this affect Google Shopping feeds or other shopping feeds?
OEM products are excluded from shopping feeds (Google Shopping, etc.) entirely, regardless of this setting. Only Aftermarket and Private Catalog products appear in shopping feeds.
Q: What is PartStream?
PartStream is the OEM parts lookup widget embedded on your webstore. It allows customers to search for OEM parts by make, model, year, and diagram. When a customer finds a part and adds it to their cart, the system creates a Webstore Product record for that part (if one doesn't already exist).
