Shipping Options
PSS offers multiple ways to handle shipping for your business:
- Built-in shipping — Flat rate price bands and/or real-time calculated rates powered by EasyPost
- Built-in label purchasing — Buy and print shipping labels directly from PSS using EasyPost (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and more)
- Third-party shipping software — Integrate with ShippingEasy or ShipWorks for advanced shipping workflows
You can use these options independently or in combination. For example, many dealers use built-in calculated rates at checkout and ShippingEasy for label printing and fulfillment.
Setting Up Basic Shipping
Step 1: Set Your Origin Address
Your origin address is where packages ship from. This is required for both tax calculation and shipping rate quotes.
Step 2: Configure Shipping Rates
PSS supports two methods for determining shipping costs at checkout. You can use one or both.
Option A: Flat Rate Price Bands
Flat rate shipping charges customers a fixed shipping cost based on their order subtotal. This is the simplest approach and does not require product weights.
- Go to Settings > Webstore > Shipping Rules
- Add a country (e.g., US)
- Create price bands:
| Order Subtotal Min | Order Subtotal Max | Shipping Cost |
|---|---|---|
| $0.00 | $49.99 | $7.95 |
| $50.00 | $99.99 | $9.95 |
| $100.00 | $199.99 | $12.95 |
| $200.00 | (no max) | $0.00 (free) |
- Save
Customers see "Flat Rate" as their shipping option at checkout. The system matches their order subtotal to the appropriate band and charges accordingly.
Carrier filtering: You can restrict which carriers appear for specific countries. For example, you might only show USPS for domestic orders and DHL for international.
Fallback behavior: If calculated rates cannot be determined (e.g., a product is missing its weight), the system falls back to your flat rate price bands. This is why it's a good idea to have both configured.
Buying & Printing Shipping Labels in PSS
PSS has built-in label purchasing through EasyPost. You can buy discounted postage and print labels without leaving the platform.
How It Works
- From an order, create a new shipment package (enter dimensions, weight, and destination)
- The system retrieves real-time rates from all available carriers
- Select a rate and purchase the label
- Print the label (available in PNG, PDF, ZPL, or EPL2 format)
- The tracking number is automatically saved to the order
Supported Carriers
EasyPost connects to a wide range of carriers including:
| Carrier | Notes |
|---|---|
| USPS | Includes all service levels (Priority, First Class, Priority Mail Express, Parcel Select, Media Mail) and predefined flat rate packages |
| UPS | Ground, 2nd Day Air, 3-Day Select, Next Day Air, and more |
| FedEx | Ground, Home Delivery, Express Saver, 2Day, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight |
| DHL Express | International express shipping |
| Additional carriers | Purolator, Canada Post, OnTrac, LaserShip, Royal Mail, and others depending on your EasyPost account |
Predefined Packages
When creating a shipment, you can select from predefined carrier packages (USPS Flat Rate boxes, FedEx envelopes, etc.) or enter custom dimensions.
Insurance
You can add shipping insurance when purchasing a label. Enter the insured value and it will be included with the shipment.

How Shipping Works by Channel
| Channel | Shipping at Checkout | Fulfillment & Tracking |
|---|---|---|
| Webstore | Calculated rates (EasyPost) or flat rate bands — configured in PSS | Enter tracking in PSS or via shipping integration; customer is emailed automatically |
| eBay | Flat rate, calculated (eBay's rate tables), or price-banded — configured in listing templates | Tracking synced to eBay automatically when entered in PSS; carrier auto-detected |
| Amazon | Amazon manages shipping rates and customer experience | Tracking synced to Amazon automatically; carrier auto-detected from tracking number |
Carrier Auto-Detection
When you enter a tracking number on an order, PSS automatically detects the carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) from the tracking number format. This is used when confirming shipment to eBay, Amazon, and Walmart. You do not need to manually select the carrier.
Bulk Tracking Import
If you fulfill orders outside of PSS (e.g., through a third-party warehouse), you can import tracking numbers in bulk.
Choosing the Right Setup
Just Getting Started (Low Volume)
- Set up flat rate price bands for your webstore (simplest option, no product weights needed)
- Ship orders using your preferred carrier's website or retail counter
- Enter tracking numbers manually on each order in PSS
Growing Business (Moderate Volume)
- Set up EasyPost calculated rates for accurate checkout pricing
- Use PSS built-in label purchasing to buy and print labels inside the platform
- Consider adding flat rate bands as a fallback for products without weights
High Volume Operation
- Set up EasyPost calculated rates for checkout
- Add ShippingEasy for batch label printing, automation rules, and branded packing slips
- Keep flat rate bands as a fallback
- Enable Order Automation if you dropship from distributors — PSS can automatically pull tracking from distributor purchase orders
