Private Catalog FAQ
Products & Part Numbers
Q: Can I change a product's Manufacturer Part Number after creating it?
No. The MPN is locked after creation to maintain data integrity across the system (webstore, marketplace listings, inventory records). If you need a different MPN, delete the product and create a new one.
Q: Can I move a product from one product group to another?
No. Products are permanently linked to their product group. To reassign, delete the product from the old group and recreate it in the new one.
Q: Is there a limit to how many private products I can have?
There is no system-imposed limit on the number of private products in your catalog.
Q: Can I have the same product in both Private and Aftermarket catalogs?
These are separate catalog systems. A product in the Private Catalog is independent of Aftermarket products. They may appear side by side on the webstore if they are in the same categories.
Pricing & Inventory
Q: How does pricing work if I set both MSRP and Sale Price?
Sale Price (set in Pricing & Inventory) takes priority. MSRP is the fallback if no sale price is set. Customers see whichever is active.
Q: I imported products via CSV but they don't show on my webstore. Why?
Check two things:
(1) The product must have inventory set — the CSV import creates the product but does not set shelf quantities. Open the product and set a quantity in Pricing & Inventory.
(2) If In-Stock Only is enabled, products with zero quantity are hidden.
Bulk Import & Export
Q: How do I update products in bulk?
Export your products to CSV, modify the spreadsheet, and re-import. The importer matches by Manufacturer Name + MPN and updates existing products instead of creating duplicates.
Images
Q: What image formats are supported?
The system accepts any image file format. However, JPEG and PNG are recommended for the best compatibility across the webstore and marketplace platforms.
Q: How many images can I attach to a product?
There is no hard limit. However, the webstore and marketplace listings typically display 5–12 images. Focus on quality over quantity.
Used Products & Condition
Q: What is the "Used" checkbox for?
Marking a product as "Used" enables the Condition Notes field and flags the product appropriately for marketplace listings (e.g., eBay's item condition). Use this for pre-owned, refurbished, or teardown parts.
Other
Q: What happens when I delete a private product?
The product is removed from the Private Catalog, the webstore, and any marketplace listings. If it was the last product in its group, the webstore listing (product page) is removed. This action cannot be undone.
Q: Can customers see my Row and Bin locations?
No. Row and Bin are internal-only fields for your warehouse organization. They are not displayed on the webstore or marketplace listings.
