Webstore and Marketplace Listings
How Private Products Appear on the Webstore
- Private products appear alongside Aftermarket products in category pages and search results
- Each product group becomes one product page with variations
- Customers can filter and search for private products the same way as any other product
- The webstore shows the sale price (from Pricing & Inventory) or MSRP as the displayed price
Product Page Display
On the webstore product page:
- Product name comes from the Product Group name
- Description comes from the Product Group description (rich text supported)
- Brand comes from the Manufacturer name
- Variations (size, color, option) come from individual products within the group
- Images are displayed in a gallery from the product's attached images
- Price shows the sale price if set, otherwise MSRP
- Fitment data is searchable through vehicle lookups
In-Stock Behavior
Private products only use shelf quantities (the quantity you set manually) to determine stock status. They do not have distributor feeds. This means:
- If In-Stock Only is set to either "Shelf & Distributor Quantities" or "Shelf Quantities Only," the behavior is identical for private products — they appear only if your shelf quantity is greater than zero
- If In-Stock Only is Disabled, private products always appear regardless of quantity
Organizing with Categories
Private products are automatically categorized on your webstore through the category mapping system. To control where they appear:
- Products are mapped to webstore categories based on their attributes and the category mapping rules
- You can manually assign products to categories through the Webstore Products page
- If a product doesn't match any category, it may appear in an "Other" catch-all category
Marketplace Integration
Private Catalog products can be listed on eBay and Amazon through their respective marketplace integrations.
Listing to Marketplaces
- From the Private Catalog list, select the products you want to list
- Click the marketplace button (eBay or Amazon) in the toolbar
- The listing job is queued and processed in the background
Marketplace Requirements to Keep in Mind
- Images: Marketplaces have stricter image requirements than the webstore. Ensure your images meet minimum size requirements (typically 1000x1000 pixels) and use white backgrounds.
- UPC/GTIN: Amazon may require a UPC/GTIN. Fill in this field when creating your products.
- Descriptions: Write clear, professional descriptions. Marketplace listings use the Product Group description.
- Used items: For used products, the
is_usedflag andcondition_notesare used by marketplace listing templates.
Filtering by Marketplace Status
The Private Catalog dashboard includes filters for eBay, Amazon, and Webstore listing status, so you can quickly see which products are listed where and which still need attention.
